I’ve never worked with either, but just the name Cool Agar makes me think it’s an agar that would keep the crystal clear appearance and not turn cloudy like regular agar powder does. I think that the recipes that call for the larger amounts of agar are using a special agar, even though the recipes just say “agar powder.” I noticed a few videos talk about using a Japanese-style agar or a Cool Agar. I’m still puzzled by how the recipes work with the large amounts of agar, but I do have one theory. It would set within an hour and it did not dissolve in my mouth. When I used a larger amount of agar, the mixture was cloudy and the end result was very firm. Some recipes called for a few grams (which is the equivalent to a few teaspoons) and some called for barely 1/8 of a teaspoon. When I started reading through recipes, I found big discrepancies in the amount of agar used. However, based on all the descriptions I read about the raindrop cake, it’s supposed to be very delicate and only hold its form for about 30 minutes before dissolving. Normally, agar-based desserts have a somewhat firmer, jelly texture. It is commonly used in Asian desserts, especially any that have a jelly consistency. Agar is a a gelatin-like substance that is derived from algae. I’m documenting my findings here, so that hopefully you won’t have to go through the same trial and errors and can have success on the first try.Īgar. Before attempting to make it, I did a lot of research. (Even with the toppings, you’re looking at around 50 calories per serving.)Įven though the raindrop cake is only two ingredients, it actually took me several trials before getting the right proportions. The dessert is apparently also very popular in Japan because the raindrop itself is almost zero calories. The end result is a surprisingly refreshing dish which I really enjoyed. But it’s paired with roasted soy bean flour (kinako) and black sugar syrup (kuromitsu), which add sweetness and texture. The raindrop itself is made out of only two ingredients: water and agar. The dessert is very delicate and is supposed to only hold its form for about 30 minutes. When you bite in, the dessert dissolves in your mouth, like eating rain. The name Raindrop Cake comes from its appearance– which looks like a giant raindrop– as well as the taste. Since then, the unique looking dessert has become very popular. Inspired by a traditional Japanese dessert, Mizu Shingen Mochi, the dessert was introduced to the US by Chef Darren Wong at Smorgasburg in New York. Over the last few months, I’ve been very intrigued by the Raindrop Cake. Add a healthy amount of syrup and kinako on the side. This low calorie and popular food trend can be easily made at home with just a few ingredients! To serve, gently remove the Raindrop Cake from the mold and place on a plate. You can add a dollop of dark corn syrup to prevent crystallization.) (Any crystals left will make it gritty and will crystalize the syrup after it’s cooled. To make syrup, boil 100ml water and dissolve 200g of dark brown sugarcane. Pour into mold and let set for at least 2 hours. Let the boiled solution cool to about 150 ☏. 100ml water (normal water will do it’s for the syrup)īoil 2 cups water, sprinkle in agar so it does not clump.1.20g agar powder (This is the minimal amount needed to hold its shape).2 cups water (Purest you can find, I used double carbon filtered, UV, reverse osmosis and ionized water).Below is the original recipe that I landed on that started it all. I learned everything I could about making jelly, experimenting with different agars and figuring out how a minor difference in water would make a big difference. That fascinated me and I decided I would figure out how to make it on my own. I read about a Shingen mochi made out of water. I started Raindrop Cake as a small side hustle based on a fondness for Japanese desserts. The attention it got took me by complete surprise. In April 2016 I launched Raindrop Cake at Smorgasburg in New York.

Use it often, and hopefully, use it aggressively. Power Slide is a straightforward ability that’s an essential tool for how to play Sojourn in Overwatch 2. This is very useful if you’re getting dived or flanked. You can even slide backward and away from your crosshair if you need a reliable getaway. These aggressive plays will immensely pay off if you can score a clean headshot to their supports. If you’re confident in your abilities, you can slip away from the heat of the fight to flank the backline. Too many players underestimate Sojourn’s ability to score a fast elimination, so you should take advantage of that. Use Power Slide often to reposition into the higher ground to threaten the enemy team. Once you’re used to Sojourn’s jump, you’ll score much more eliminations with this ability and your powerful secondary fire. The ability is also excellent to bypass the frontline and quickly take down the more fragile backline. Use Power Slide if you need a better angle to cut off enemies with Disruptor Shot. For one thing, being able to jump on command lets you aim your abilities with precision. Power Slide is a useful repositioning tool that synergizes well with Sojourn’s kit. Then, you can cancel it at any time with a jump to launch yourself high into the air. It comes in two parts: first, you can press crouch while walking to transition into a fast-moving slide. Power Slide is Sojourn’s movement ability. If you want to know how to play Sojourn in Overwatch 2, dedicate some time to using the various aim trainers in custom matches or even third-party games. Sojourn’s effectiveness heavily relies on your precision and game awareness. So you can’t just charge up and find an off-angle to surprise your opponents. Lastly, her charges decay after a few seconds without hitting anything. It’s best to think of your primary fire how the same way Widowmaker players think of charging their shot. However, it’s much more important to land a critical hit with the secondary fire. Since her primary fire is projectile and her secondary fire is hitscan, her two aim types might throw off players. Additionally, Sojourn can earn her secondary fire by attacking barriers. Railgun’s secondary fire is the core of Sojourn’s damage, and it’s crucial to earn it fast and connect it often. A fully charged headshot is enough to kill most of the cast, so it’s vital to take your time to get a clean shot. When fully charged, it deals 130 damage to the body and 260 on a headshot. She can release a high damaging shot that uses up your current energy at any point. Hitting any enemy target with Railgun’s primary fire will start to fill her secondary fire. However, it will start to spread out when firing for extended periods. Her primary weapon is pinpoint accurate if fired in short bursts. It holds 45 ammo per clip and deals around 9 damage per hit. Railgun is Sojourn’s primary weapon that shoots energy projectiles. She wears a dark suit with white plating under a beige coat with the maple leaf logo on both shoulders.Sojourn Gameplay Sojourn Abilities Railgun Half of her body appears to be somewhat prosthetic. Sojourn is a Canadian woman with dark skin and white drills tied into a ponytail. One year after the Overwatch Recall initiation, Sojourn rejoins the team as a captain again. In the operation, she supported the team via radio, and they successfully apprehended him. She assigned Tracer to lead a strike team of Mercy, Winston, and Genji in the mission to track Maximilien. She soothed Jack's anxieties about sending the strike team out after an in-field incident with Reinhardt, and she believed that Jack would agree with her that Tracer has grown as a leader since the King's Row Uprising. Six years prior to the current events, after Overwatch struggled to arrest Doomfist following the King's Row Uprising, Sojourn suggested to Strike-Commander Jack Morrison that the organization change tactics by instead arresting Doomfist's accountant, Maximilien. Sojourn was an Overwatch Captain before the events leading to the organization’s disbandment. Usually, your screen will be made up of pixels, each of which has a sub-pixel of different colours being red, blue and green. The f.lux app changes the colours on your screen so that the blue colour sub-pixels in the display of your LCD screen quite literally shut off. You download the app on your computer (both on PC and Mac). It may also cause ‘eye strain’ and other forms of eye damage like retinal degeneration.į.lux is a popular computer application that markets itself as an app whereby you can lower the level of blue light on your screen, thereby acting like the natural variations of regular daylight. It can also cause sleep disorders like insomnia, sleep phrase disorder (DSPD). The effects of looking at blue light for too long can cause serious health problems in human beings such as heart disease and cancer. It has a shorter wavelength which means it can scatter much more easily. That’s because blue light is an a type of light with a wavelength of 380-500 nanometres (nm). Blue light has the effect of boosting our alertness and helping us be productive, but too much of it is never a good thing. Blue light is actually a type of artificial light, emitted from electronic devices like phones, laptops, televisions, computers and tablets. While there are many ways that we can combat blue light and its effects, is the f.lux blue light exposure app one of them? Below, we’ll look into f.lux, how blue light works, and whether the app is a useful tool to mitigate its harmful effects.įirst, what is blue light and how does it affect human health?īefore we talk about f.lux in any further detail, it is useful to know a little bit more about blue light and how it can affect our health. All you really have to do is activate the app, and it changes the total colour spectrum that is emitted from your computer’s screen. The f.lux blue light filter app, however, appears to be a very convenient way to reduce our exposure to blue light. Our monitors expose all of us to the full spectrum of light wavelengths, so you can see blues and greens (cool colours) as well as oranges and reds (warm colours). Using computers, television and mobile phone screens all the time can lead to eye strain and pain in your eyes because you’re constantly exposed to blue light. But there are some of us who have found what seems like a useful way to combat its effects – the f.lux blue light filter app. Most people today use computer and mobile phone screens as if there no consequences. This option is not allowed when using binary format. You might prefer an empty string even in text format for cases where you don't want to distinguish nulls from empty strings. The default is \N (backslash-N) in text format, and an unquoted empty string in CSV format. Specifies the string that represents a null value. This must be a single one-byte character. The default is a tab character in text format, a comma in CSV format. Specifies the character that separates columns within each row (line) of the file. Note that all other sessions will immediately be able to see the data once it has been successfully loaded. Rows will be frozen only if the table being loaded has been created or truncated in the current subtransaction, there are no cursors open and there are no older snapshots held by this transaction. This is intended as a performance option for initial data loading. Requests copying the data with rows already frozen, just as they would be after running the VACUUM FREEZE command. FREEZE Selects the data format to be read or written: text, csv (Comma Separated Values), or binary. The boolean value can also be omitted, in which case TRUE is assumed. You can write TRUE, ON, or 1 to enable the option, and FALSE, OFF, or 0 to disable it. Specifies whether the selected option should be turned on or off. For security reasons, it is best to use a fixed command string, or at least avoid passing any user input in it. Note that the command is invoked by the shell, so if you need to pass any arguments to shell command that come from an untrusted source, you must be careful to strip or escape any special characters that might have a special meaning for the shell. In COPY FROM, the input is read from standard output of the command, and in COPY TO, the output is written to the standard input of the command. Windows users might need to use an E'' string and double any backslashes used in the path name. When STDIN or STDOUT is specified, data is transmitted via the connection between the client and the server. The command must be specified from the viewpoint of the server, and be executable by the PostgreSQL user. When PROGRAM is specified, the server executes the given command and reads from the standard output of the program, or writes to the standard input of the program. The file must be accessible by the PostgreSQL user (the user ID the server runs as) and the name must be specified from the viewpoint of the server. Table columns not specified in the COPY FROM column list will receive their default values.ĬOPY with a file name instructs the PostgreSQL server to directly read from or write to a file. For COPY FROM, each field in the file is inserted, in order, into the specified column. If a column list is specified, COPY TO copies only the data in the specified columns to the file. COPY TO can also copy the results of a SELECT query. COPY TO copies the contents of a table to a file, while COPY FROM copies data from a file to a table (appending the data to whatever is in the table already). COPY moves data between PostgreSQL tables and standard file-system files. So, what would you do if you were in my shoes? Would you quit your job if the HR department allowed this type of behavior to take place? How would you feel if someone disliked you to the point of hatred? It became a hostile environment, but I learned that since everyone in the company had a Type A personality, they thought it was normal behavior, and no repercussions were ever enforced despite my complaints. They chose to react by throwing batches of paper at me, hurling highlighters, and tossing other office supplies at my head! These women did not take kindly to being corrected on the work they did, and their reactions were rather shocking, in my opinion! My role was to review and correct their work, which didn’t exactly go over well. This happened to me when I became the supervisor of several accounting clerks, people who had worked at the company longer than me and who had far more experience than I did. Now, I never found out the true reason for the hatred, but it was obvious that they loathed me. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been around a lot of girls who hated me.
